Unless specified, our First Aid and Health & Safety qualifications are valid for three years from the date of issue. We recommend completing an annual First Aid refresher course to keep your knowledge sharp and up to date with the latest HSE guidance.
We aim to issue the digital copy of your first aid certificate within 48 hours (working days) of completing your course . If you need confirmation sooner (for your employer or an inspection), we can email proof of successful completion straight away.
No previous experience needed at all! Our First Aid courses are designed for complete beginners. Everything is explained clearly and step by step, with plenty of time for practice. You’ll walk away feeling confident, even if you’ve never done First Aid before.

There will be an MCQ test at the end of each course, along with a practical assessment which will take place throughout the duration of the course. But you don't need to worry, as your trainer will guide and support you all along. With Chester First Aid Training's 99.9% pass rate, you have nothing to be scared of.
Yes, as long as you’re over 16 and willing to get involved in the practical bits, you can become a certified First Aider for your workplace. You don’t need to be super fit or have a medical background, just a genuine interest in helping others.
Nothing special! Just wear comfy clothes and flat shoes, as you’ll be kneeling or moving around during the practical parts. We provide everything else, including training kits, handouts, and refreshments.
No, don’t worry. We use CPR manikins (lifelike dummies) for all CPR and rescue breathing practice. Everything is safe, clean, and hygienic.
Absolutely. Knowing First Aid is a life skill, not just a work requirement. You’ll learn how to stay calm in an emergency and potentially save a life. Most people leave saying, “I wish I’d done this sooner.”
Most people take our 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course, which runs from 9am to 4pm with breaks for tea and lunch. We also offer shorter awareness sessions and longer 3 day courses for those needing advanced training.
Yes, our courses are nationally recognised and meet the HSE and Ofsted standards, meaning your certificate is valid anywhere in the UK. Whether you’re working in Chester, Manchester, or London, your qualification meets UK safety standards.
Prices depend on the course type, but for most open sessions, you’re looking at around £95–£110 + VAT per person. For workplaces training 6 or more staff, group discounts are available , and we can come to your premises at no extra charge.
If you want to! Our Blended Paediatric First Aid course specifically covers infants and young children, perfect for parents, teachers, childminders and nursery staff.
